Numbers that are NOT important on your Big Day!

Numbers that are NOT important on your Big Day!

Let’s be honest… wedding planning has a way of making you hyper-aware of numbers. Guest lists, budgets, timelines, minimum spends... they seem to run the show. But here’s the truth: there are some numbers that shouldn’t matter at all — especially not on your wedding day.

I’m talking about the ones that sneak into your mind and try to tell you that your value is tied to them. Numbers like:

  • Your weight
  • Your dress size
  • The calories you eat
  • The steps you clock up

These numbers can make you feel like you have to earn the right to feel beautiful or happy on your big day. But here’s a secret: none of those numbers matter. Not to your partner, not to your family, and they shouldn’t matter to you either.

Your Weight Doesn't Walk Down the Aisle

Nobody—seriously, nobody—is going to care what the scale said on the morning of your wedding. And neither should you! The truth is, your weight doesn’t determine how beautiful you are. What people will remember is the way your face lights up when you see your partner at the end of the aisle. That’s the magic—not a number.

Instead of focusing on your weight:

Focus on how you feel in your dress. Do you feel comfortable? Can you move freely? Can you enjoy every moment of the day without worrying about adjustments or discomfort? Are you able to dance in your dress? That’s what really matters.

Your Dress Size Isn't the Star of the Show

Repeat after me: Your dress size is just a number. It’s not a reflection of your worth, and it certainly won’t dictate how much love you deserve or get on your big day. Whether you wear a size 4 or 24, the only thing that matters is that you feel your BEST in whatever you choose to wear.

Pro tip: Don’t get hung up on sizing. Bridal gowns run differently, and it’s normal for your dress size to vary from what you’re used to. The size on the tag? It’s irrelevant. How you feel in the dress? That’s everything. If you think seeing the size on a dress will play tricks on your mind, simply cut the tag off and it’s like the size never existed in the first place.

Calories Don't Count on Your Big Day

There is absolutely no time to count calories on a day as special as this. You’re there to celebrate love, not to monitor every bite you eat. Whether you want to savor the cake, enjoy a cocktail, or indulge in that late-night snack, do it with joy and without guilt.

Remember: Food is fuel, not something you need to earn or punish yourself for. Eat what makes you feel energized and happy, so you can dance the night away without a care in the world.

You Don’t Need to Hit your Step Goal

The only steps that matter on your wedding day are the ones you take walking down the aisle (and, of course, some moves on the dance floor!). Forget about fitness trackers and daily goals—your wedding day isn’t a competition.

Remember, wedding prep stops the day of your wedding. You are exactly where you need to be and you are ready for the exciting day that is ahead of you.

Instead of focusing on step counts:

Focus on enjoying every moment, from the walk to the altar to the first dance. Let your heart guide you, not your Fitbit.

What Actually Matters?

Here’s the thing: No one is going to remember these numbers, and they certainly won’t define how happy or loved you are on your wedding day. What truly matters is:

  • How present you feel in each moment.
  • How connected you are to the people around you.
  • How loved and celebrated you feel by your partner and your guests.

When you let go of the pressure to hit a certain weight, size, or goal, you make space for what really matters: joy, love, and memories you’ll cherish forever.

Final Thoughts

So here’s my invitation to you: Release the numbers that don’t serve you. Instead, focus on what makes you feel good—whether that’s a delicious meal, a comfortable dress, or a day filled with moments that make your heart burst.

Because when it comes down to it, the only thing that really counts on your wedding day is love. And love? Well, that’s immeasurable.
